A Relaxing Day in the Forest
It is a beautiful Spring day in the woods. The bird are chirping and the sun is shining. All I can see for miles is a baby blue colored sky clear with no clouds in sight. My fellow trees and I are just relaxing enjoying the beautiful day like always. Being a tree is not very exciting though, we do the same thing everyday. We stand around having animals climb on us, losing our leaves, living a consistent life. Usually, our forest is very quiet and nothing really happens. Lately the other trees have been hearing that the community was trying to find a place to build a new shopping center. We all feared that our forest was going to be used for the new shopping center. After days of worrying nothing happened, so we figured another forest has been cut down. One afternoon I was taking my daily nap and I heard loud booms and a saw-like sound. I turn my branches around and witness my friend fall to the ground, being copped up, and thrown on the back of a truck. I open my eyes wider and realized that most of the forest has been chopped down. I could hear the men below me talking and I knew I was next to go. I felt as if I was dying, slowly falling to the ground branch by branch. The men chopped me to the ground and brought me over to the truck. Millions of thoughts were going through my head and I was terrified. They threw me on the truck with a bunch of other trees and I hear the men say lets take them to the factory! The other trees tell me that we are going to be made into paper. I just lay on the truck wishing this wasn't real life.
